Bridget Walsh, DO
Dr. Walsh is a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing her Internal Medicine Residency at Keesler Air Force Base she moved to Tucson and studied Rheumatology at the University of Arizona under Eric P. Gall, M.D. She completed her Rheumatology Fellowship in 1993 and remained on faculty at the University of Arizona until 1999 when she moved to the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. There she did both Internal medicine and Rheumatology until July 2005. Dr. Walsh maintains her faculty appointment at the University of Arizona as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine.
Dr. Walsh is interested in the development of safer, more effective medications to treat arthritis. She has been the principal investigator or a co-investigator in over 100 clinical trials during the last 20 years and has been the Co-director of Research for a number of years both at the University of Arizona and at Catalina Pointe . She has presented several papers at national meetings, has authored two book chapters and has been the main author or co-author on several articles.
Dr. Walsh lectures nationally and contributes to her community by giving outreach lectures locally on various rheumatologic topics.
She is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and Certified to perform and read DXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) studies for the evaluation of osteoporosis.
Dr. Walsh cares for adult patients with all types of arthritis, including gout, bursitis, osteoporosis and autoimmune diseases.
